PML-N nominates Jaffar Khan Mandokhail for Balochistan governor slot

In a recent collaborative agreement between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, a prominent figure within the PML-N, has been designated as the governor of Balochistan.

Mandokhail conveyed his appreciation to Nawaz Sharif, the leader of PML-N, for nominating him for this significant role.

Expressing his commitment to serving the nation, Mandokhail pledged to act as a conduit for communication between Balochistan and the federal government.

He is poised to succeed Abdul Wali Kakar, who hails from the Balochistan National Party and has been fulfilling the duties of governor since March 2023.

Moreover, the PPP, in line with the coalition agreement, put forward Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and Faisal Karim Kundi for the governorship positions in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) respectively.

Haider, a longstanding member of PPP, hails from Attock district in Punjab and has previously served as a federal minister and aide to the prime minister for overseas Pakistanis during the tenure of the PML-N government.

His nomination marks a transition from the leadership of Baligh Ur Rehman, a senior figure within PML-N, who assumed the governorship on May 30, 2022.

Meanwhile, Kundi, the PPP nominee for KP governor, is anticipated to take his oath of office imminently, according to sources cited by Geo News.
