PML-N supremo unveils much-awaited election manifesto

The long-awaited election manifesto of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is set to be revealed today by the party’s leader, Nawaz Sharif. The manifesto launch is accompanied by the slogan ‘Pakistan Ko Nawaz Do’ (Give Pakistan to Nawaz).

Chairman of the party’s Manifesto Committee, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, announced the launch and assured that there is nothing in the manifesto that the PML-N will not be able to fulfill once in power.

He said that Nawaz Sharif explicitly instructed the committee not to include anything in the manifesto that the party cannot fulfill in the future.

Siddiqui stated, “Nawaz Sharif had forbidden [us] from showing false dreams in the manifesto,” and added that he received full guidance from the leadership during the preparation process.

The delay in the announcement of the manifesto was attributed to the party’s focus on reforms during the preparation phase. Siddiqui mentioned that around 32 committees were formed to draft the manifesto, which also includes an evaluation of the party’s past performance.

During the launch, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by senior leadership, announced the establishment of a special body to ensure the effective implementation of the manifesto.

He stressed the importance of political parties fulfilling the promises made in their manifestos, distinguishing between mere presentation and actual implementation.

Another PML-N leader present at the launch, Ahsan Iqbal, highlighted the difference between social media myths and reality, taking a subtle dig at social media campaigns led by other political parties, particularly the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
