Police arrest two street criminals in Karachi

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) reported the apprehension of two street criminals, identified as Riyaz and Alamgir, near Mohammad Shah graveyard road in North Karachi. Upon inspection, law enforcement recovered a pistol, narcotics, and two stolen mobile phones from the suspects.

In a separate development, the Sindh police conducted 16 encounters throughout the week, resulting in the arrest of 18 robbers and 949 suspects.

Additionally, the police confiscated 141 illegal firearms and seized 40.49 kg of illicit drugs.

Furthermore, authorities impounded 49 stolen motorcycles and a car. In a significant operation, a high-profile terror suspect associated with the banned BLA was apprehended in Lyari.

DIG Karachi-South Asad Raza revealed that the arrested individual, Mairaj alias Mama, facilitated the outlawed outfit by providing intelligence to its commander, Jalal.

Mairaj was implicated in orchestrating attacks against security forces, including incidents in Gwadar, Turbat, Nasirabad, and Nushki.

Notably, his reconnaissance activities led to casualties among military personnel and the targeting of intelligence officers’ relatives.
Additionally, Mairaj was involved in assaults on Gwadar and Pakistan Navy airports. The arrest represents a significant blow to the BLA’s operational capabilities.
