Karachi: The series of revelations regarding the presence of the poliovirus continues in Karachi with the detection of poliovirus in the sewerage of the West district.
The first positive sample of the poliovirus has emerged from the West district with an environmental sample collected from Khmiso Goth on April 2. Positive poliovirus samples were previously found in the East district of Karachi on January 11, 2024.
Additionally, the eighth positive poliovirus sample of the year was obtained from the Aurangi Naala in Kaimari. An environmental sample was collected from Aurangi Naala on April 1, 2024.
Prior to these findings, positive samples were discovered on January 3, January 8, February 13, February 14, March 4, March 5 and April 1.
