Preparations completed in assemblies for presidential elections

Preparations for the upcoming presidential elections in the provincial assemblies have been finalized. The Sindh assembly has been designated as the polling station for these elections.

Officials have confirmed that the Sindh assembly building has been handed over to the Election Commission, where polling will take place from 10 am to 4 pm. Each vote in the Sindh assembly will count for 2.5 seats.

In total, 162 members have been sworn in at the Sindh assembly. Among them, 116 belong to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), 36 to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), one to Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), and 9 are independent members supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Meanwhile, the ballot box and necessary equipment for the presidential election have been delivered to the Punjab assembly. Election Commission polling officers have also arrived at the assembly to carry out their duties.

Similarly, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly hall has been designated as another polling station. Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), Muhammad Ibrahim, will serve as the presiding officer.

In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly, 118 members will cast their votes for the presidential elections, while in the Balochistan assembly, 64 members will also participate. Special arrangements have been made in the Balochistan assembly to facilitate the voting process.
