PTI announces to file reference against switched loyalties

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken a firm stance against members who have defected from the party.

PTI has announced its intention to lodge complaints against over 20 members of the national and provincial assemblies who have switched sides. These complaints will be forwarded to the respective assembly speakers.

Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar, the nominated opposition leader, warned that if the speakers fail to act on these complaints, PTI will resort to legal recourse by approaching the judiciary.

He said that an inquiry has been initiated to identify those who have changed their allegiance. According to Articles 62 and 63 of the constitution, individuals who switch loyalties may not be eligible to retain their assembly memberships.
