PTI candidate withdraws from NA-155, endorses Jahangir Tareen

Ifat Tahira Soomro, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate from NA-155 Lodhran, announced her withdrawal from the electoral race during a meeting with the Chairman of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), Jahangir Tareen, at his residence.

Soomro’s decision to step aside in favor of Tareen was made public following her meeting with the influential political figure. Expressing his gratitude, Tareen welcomed Soomro’s endorsement and affirmed his commitment to engage in active political endeavors.

In a formal video statement, Soomro clarified her decision, citing her initiation into practical politics in Lodhran, specifically targeting Siddique Baloch of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). She adamantly criticized Baloch’s policies, characterizing them as detrimental to the interests of the people.

Addressing recent allegations circulated by the Siddique Baloch group suggesting her abduction, Soomro vehemently denied the claims, labeling them as baseless propaganda aimed at discrediting her campaign. She urged the public not to be swayed by such misinformation and appealed for their continued support against Baloch.

In an emphatic plea to the electorate, Soomro endorsed Tareen as the candidate deserving of their votes in NA-155, denouncing accusations of involvement in corrupt practices and affirming her commitment to principled politics devoid of monetary influence.

As the electoral landscape in NA-155 Lodhran continues to evolve, Soomro’s withdrawal and subsequent endorsement of Tareen signal a significant shift in alliances, setting the stage for a heightened political contest in the constituency.
