Rana Sanaullah named advisor to PM on political and public affairs

President Asif Ali Zardari has given his approval for Rana Sanaullah to serve as Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs, granting him the status of a federal minister.

The appointment, sanctioned on the recommendation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, bestows upon Rana Sanaullah the responsibility of advising the Prime Minister on matters pertaining to political and public affairs.

In related news, on April 9, a local court in Karachi dismissed a plea filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against Rana Sanaullah of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), accusing him of allegedly threatening the PTI founder. The petition, lodged by Zahoor Mahsood, President of PTI Lawyers Forum Sindh, alleged that threats to “assassinate” PTI members were circulated on social media on March 25. However, police informed the court that Mahsood had been summoned to the police station to provide his statement but failed to appear.
