Relief to PTI is not an indication of any signal: Rana Sanaullah

Rana Sanaullah has stated that the recent relief given to PTI is not due to any external influence.

In an interview with a private news channel, the political adviser to the Prime Minister expressed doubts about the PTI founder being released from jail anytime soon.

The PML-N leader urged those in hiding to come forward. He remarked, “If the PTI founder had truly engaged in politics, we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to take over during the no-confidence motion.”

Sanaullah continued, “If PTI had not left the parliament, our government wouldn’t have lasted 16 months. The events of May 9 wouldn’t have occurred if PTI hadn’t dissolved its provincial governments.”

He said that political instability leads to economic instability, attributing much of this instability to the PTI founder. “As a politician, he has taken an apolitical stance. In a parliamentary system, refusing dialogue is a threat to the system.”

He argued, “If you want to bring about a revolution, you should leave the parliament, as it has no role in a revolution.”

A government adviser noted that a PTI member claimed they would not permit dialogue. “It’s our responsibility to get permission. You should come to the table for talks,” Sanaullah urged.

“They are now demanding their ‘mandate’ be recognized and prisoners released. If we do that, there will be nothing left to negotiate. If we concede everything, we will end up in jail,” the PML-N leader pointed out.

He stated that the opposition alliance is forming naturally, without any external signals. “Dialogue could begin if the opposition alliance is established,” the political adviser said. “We will engage with Maulana Fazl ur Rehman after the alliance is complete. If we talk to him before that, he won’t join the alliance.”

Sanaullah added, “I don’t harbor any animosity towards the PTI founder, despite his misguided efforts. He is a political reality but is refusing dialogue.”

He concluded, “We cannot eliminate each other; the only option is to sit and talk. If you don’t understand this, you’ll face challenges. Resistance should be a necessity, not for its own sake.”

He also commented on the role of the establishment, noting that if they agree to stay within their bounds, there is no need for resistance. “If they are willing to assist you in the SIFC, then why resist?” Sanaullah questioned.

Regarding the release of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, he acknowledged that the release was justified and unexpected. “He is an opponent, but I respect anyone who stands by their leader through adversity,” he said.
