Richa Chadha dubs fellow Bollywood actors ‘lazy’

Bollywood actress Richa Chadha recently defended veteran filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s work culture, labeling her fellow actors as ‘lazy’ in comparison.

In a recent interview, Chadha, who is collaborating with Bhansali once again for ‘Heeramandi’ after starring in ‘Ram Leela’, praised his demanding approach to work, emphasizing the need for actors to give their all.

She remarked, “No offence to actors, but today many have become complacent. With Sanjay sir, you have to engage fully and maintain utmost focus.”

Acknowledging the challenges of working with Bhansali, Chadha admitted, “It’s not an easy task. You can’t afford to be half-hearted with him.”

Prior to Chadha, her ‘Heeramandi’ co-star Manisha Koirala also commended Bhansali’s perfectionism, refuting claims of him being a hard taskmaster.

These comments came in response to fellow actor Ranbir Kapoor’s remark about Bhansali’s work ethic.

Richa Chadha is currently anticipating the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited digital debut, ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’.

The series, featuring a stellar cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, and Aditi Rao Hydari, among others, explores the lives of courtesans in pre-independent India’s Lahore.

Scheduled to premiere on Netflix on May 1, ‘Heeramandi’ promises to offer a compelling narrative set in the vibrant backdrop of the red-light district.
