Saheefa Jabbar Khattak opens up about mental health struggles, return to acting

Saheefa Jabbar Khattak, the acclaimed Pakistani actress renowned for her compelling roles in various TV dramas, made a comeback to the screen earlier this year following a hiatus of four years.

During a recent podcast interview with Ahmed Ali Butt, Saheefa Jabbar Khattak opened up about her struggles with mental health. She described how her condition had deteriorated to the point where even the process of healing was prolonged.

Recounting a particularly difficult moment, she recalled boarding a plane to Canada while heavily medicated and informing the flight attendant about her situation, emphasizing the importance of support during panic attacks.

She confessed to taking a high dosage of antidepressants and muscle relaxants without a prescription, even admitting to a moment where she feared for her life, prompting a distressing call to her mother.

Describing her mother’s swift response to her distress call, Saheefa shared how her condition had reached such a critical point that she felt her mother’s presence was necessary to prevent a tragic outcome.

Despite initially expressing reluctance to collaborate with writer and actor Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar due to concerns about his behavior, she reconsidered after Ahmed Ali Butt highlighted his positive qualities.
