Saudi investment delegation’s visit marks milestone in Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a statement during the chairing of a federal cabinet meeting, emphasized the pivotal nature of the recent visit by a Saudi investment delegation to Islamabad, heralding it as a significant stride forward in fortifying the bonds between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

He extended his commendation to the federal ministers, government officials, and staff for their concerted efforts in ensuring the success of the delegation’s visit. During the session, the federal cabinet, acting upon the recommendation put forth by the Ministry of Aviation, sanctioned Air Sial to commence its flight operations to various international destinations including China, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, the UK, and Kuwait.

This approval, granted under the National Aviation Policy 2023 and Air Services Agreement, underscores the government’s commitment to fostering connectivity and facilitating international travel.

Additionally, the cabinet greenlit the initiation of a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a Joint Trade Committee between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Columbia, further underscoring the nation’s dedication to expanding its economic partnerships.

Furthermore, a notable decision was made to transfer the oversight of the Directorate General of Special Education from the Ministry of Human Rights to the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, reflecting a strategic realignment of administrative responsibilities.
