Sharmeen Obaid has something to say as ‘3 Bahadur’ turns 7!

Pakistan’s first full-length animated feature film ‘3 Bahadur’ completed its seven years on May 21, and the Oscar-winning director Sharmeen Obaid, who helmed the project, took to her social media account to post a status celebrating the success of the film. This is what the filmmaker had to say:

“‘3 Bahadur’ turns 7 today! It’s 7 years to the day that the first installment of the 3 Bahadur franchise, Pakistan’s first ever 3D animated film, was released in cinemas across the country. The idea of an animated superhero film (in Urdu!) was previously unheard of in Pakistan, and when 3 Bahadur was released on May 21, 2015, the film created box office history by becoming the highest-grossing animated movie in the history of Pakistani cinema – a position it maintained for almost 2 years until the 2nd part of the franchise was released. With themes still relevant today, 3 Bahadur truly was a ground-breaking film that paved the way for the future of 3D animation in Pakistan.”
