Shikhar Dhawan addresses wild rumour

Veteran Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan, sidelined from international cricket and facing limited playing time in IPL 2024 due to injury, maintains a positive outlook on life despite his career’s decline.

In a recent interview with IPL’s broadcaster, Dhawan humorously addressed a bizarre rumor circulating about him, stating, “I heard that I was getting married to Mithali Raj,” referring to the former India women’s team captain, who currently mentors the Gujarat Giants in the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Dhawan also commended Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant for his remarkable comeback to the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024, praising his resilience and determination in overcoming injuries and rehab.

Reflecting on IPL 2024, Dhawan’s team, Punjab Kings, failed to meet expectations, finishing 9th in the points table out of 10 teams. Dhawan himself scored 152 runs in 5 matches, boasting an average of 30.40 and a strike rate of 125.61.
