Shoaib Akhtar halts production of his own biopic ‘Rawalpindi Express’

Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has successfully obtained a legal stay order from the court, halting the production of his supposed biopic titled “Rawalpindi Express.” Akhtar expressed his concerns and dissatisfaction with the filmmakers, stating that they continued to threaten the production despite the termination of their agreement. The cricketer shared a legal notice on Twitter to shed light on the situation.

In January, Akhtar publicly disassociated himself from the biopic, which is being directed by Faraz Qaiser, Shoaib Ahmed Khan, and Hassan Zahid. He warned the filmmakers about the severe legal consequences they would face if they proceeded with the film and exploited his name or life events without his consent.

The biopic has been in the news due to uncertainty surrounding the cast. Initially, singer-actor Umair Jaswal was supposed to play the cricketer’s role, but he later dropped out.
Currently, Shoaib Akhtar is actively engaged in promoting another docu-series titled “Cornered Tigers: The 1992 Story.” The series, directed by Adnan Sarwar and produced by Nina Kashif, takes a heartfelt trip down memory lane, revisiting some of the most unforgettable moments in the history of Pakistani cricket.

Fans and followers of Shoaib Akhtar eagerly await further updates on the legal proceedings concerning his biopic.
