Shots fired outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence

Earlier this morning, gunfire was reported outside the Mumbai residence of Bollywood star Salman Khan, as per the police.

At 5 am on Sunday, two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle fired five shots into the air near Mr. Khan’s home in Bandra before fleeing the scene.

The Mumbai Police sources indicate that a 7.6-bore gun was used, and the suspects are believed to have ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Police analysis suggests the suspects’ height to be around 5 feet 8 inches.

Law enforcement has gathered CCTV footage capturing the accused riding their bike.

Four shots were fired, with one live round recovered, likely dropped during the weapon’s mechanism.

Police confirmed a bullet struck Khan’s apartment on the first floor.

The investigation is ongoing, with the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reaching out to Khan post-incident.

Last year, the National Investigation Agency identified Khan as a primary target on Lawrence Bishnoi’s hit list, linked to a 1998 incident involving the actor’s hunting of a black buck, deemed offensive to the Bishnoi community.

Sampat Nehra, Bishnoi’s associate, had been surveilling Khan’s residence but was apprehended by Haryana Police Special Task Force.

Following a threat call last year, Mumbai Police elevated Khan’s security to Y+ status.

An Indian student in the UK was subject to a lookout circular after allegedly sending Khan a threatening email.
