Sindh CM Maqbool Babar launches hybrid city bus project

On Wednesday, caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqar inaugurated a hybrid city bus project in Karachi.

He officially handed over 30 hybrid and 50 electric buses to the provincial transportation department, which will be used on various routes throughout Karachi.

In his speech at the occasion, the chief minister emphasized the government’s commitment to solving the city’s transportation issues, citing a signed deal with the National Radio and Telecommunications Corporation to that end.

It is noteworthy that the intra-district People’s Bus Service initiative was launched in Karachi in June 2022 by the Sindh government, during the PPP’s tenure. This project’s buses were purchased from China.
