Sindh minister discusses tourism promotion with notables

Sindh Minister for Culture, Tourism, Antiquities, and Archives, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, convened a meeting with renowned figures in his office. Among them were the international off-road car racer Sahibzada Sultan Mohammad Ali and the acclaimed artist and fashion designer Yusuf Bashir Qureshi.

Their discussions focused on strategies to enhance the promotion and recognition of tourist and cultural sites in Sindh. Mr. Shah reiterated his commitment to organizing the Thar Desert Jeep Rally, aiming to boost tourism in the Tharparkar desert region. He expressed eagerness to spearhead initiatives that would elevate Sindh’s tourism profile, enabling global visitors to explore its rich history and heritage.

Accompanied by Sahibzada Sultan Mohammad Ali and Yusuf Bashir Qureshi, Mr. Shah visited the Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (PITHM), where Director Hidayatullah Memon was also present. During the visit, Mr. Shah briefed the guests on PITHM’s contributions to promoting Pakistan internationally.

He emphasized that PITHM graduates not only showcased traditional Pakistani cuisine but also international culinary delights. Mr. Shah highlighted that while students at PITHM enjoyed government-supported meals, others could savor their creations at standard prices.

He underscored PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision to empower Sindh’s youth and project Pakistan’s reputation globally. The guests commended the quality and presentation of dishes prepared by PITHM students, recognizing the institute’s pivotal role in showcasing Sindh and Pakistan’s cultural heritage worldwide.

They lauded Mr. Shah’s initiatives and pledged their full support. As a gesture of appreciation, Mr. Shah presented copies of antiquities from Moenjodaro to the guests.
