Sirajul Haq announces protest outside US consulate amid Gaza genocide

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq has announced a protest outside the United States (US) Consulate General in Karachi to denounce Israel’s ongoing siege and airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, as reported by ARY News on Tuesday.

The Gaza Strip has been under attack by Israeli occupation forces following a surprise offensive by the resistance group Hamas, breaching Israel’s defense. Israel has imposed a siege on Gaza, which is home to 2.3 million people, and local authorities have reported the deaths of over 5,000 Palestinians.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, approximately 40 percent of the 5,087 casualties are children. On the same day, Israel’s army stated it had conducted over 300 new air attacks within 24 hours, with Palestinian officials reporting more than 400 deaths during that period.

Thousands of buildings have been destroyed, and over one million people have been displaced in the territory. Gaza has been under siege, leading to severe shortages of water, food, and essential supplies.

Sirajul Haq called on people to join the Gaza march to express solidarity with the Palestinians. He criticized the US for supporting Israel in its actions against the people of Palestine and called on the international community to play a role in ending Israeli atrocities. A protest outside the US Consulate General in Karachi is planned for Sunday, October 29, and Haq’s party has invited all political parties to attend to show solidarity with the Palestinians.

He said the responsibility of the US for its support of Israel in subjecting the Palestinians to violence, adding that the US bears responsibility in regions where unrest exists around the world.
