STEAM Pakistan applauds Tareen Education Foundation’s transformative initiatives

A delegation from STEAM Pakistan, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics education in Pakistan, recently visited the Tareen Education Foundation (TEF) in Lodhran. The delegation consisted of Mr. Bilal Rao, Head of Delivery Reforms and Implementation at the Malala Fund, Ms. Huma Zia, Head of Policy, Ms. Ghamae Jamal, Senior Research Associate, and Ms. Areej Mahmood, Punjab Lead.

Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Akbar Khan, the Chief Executive Officer of TEF, and his team. During the visit, Mr. Khan provided the guests with a comprehensive overview of TEF’s history, vision, and remarkable achievements. For the past thirteen years, TEF has been committed to providing quality education to underprivileged children in the Lodhran district.

STEAM Pakistan applauds Tareen Education Foundation’s transformative initiatives in Lodhran By Ijaz Khan Sahu LODHRAN: The delegation had the opportunity to visit four schools supported by TEF: Amina Girls School and College 21 MPR, Lodhran Public School Lodhran, Government Girls High School Lodhran, and TEF School Khanwan Ghalwan. The state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure provided by TEF in these schools, including libraries, computer labs, digital literacy programs, and sports facilities, greatly impressed the delegation. They also interacted with students and teachers, acknowledging their enthusiasm and outstanding performance.

Subsequently, the delegation held a productive meeting with the heads and teachers of government schools, seeking their feedback on TEF’s educational reforms. They engaged in meaningful discussions with TEF’s team, exploring the challenges and opportunities in education within the Lodhran district. Furthermore, they discussed potential future collaborations between STEAM Pakistan and TEF.

Expressing their gratitude and admiration, the delegation commended the efforts of TEF and its founder, Mr. Jahangir Khan Tareen, for their transformative work in reshaping the education landscape of Lodhran district. Inspired by the reformative initiatives at Amina Girls High School, the delegation expressed their hope to replicate TEF’s success in other government high schools through policy-level reforms.

This visit was part of STEAM Pakistan’s ongoing initiative to observe and support educational innovations and interventions across various regions of Pakistan.
