Tareen Education Foundation Ignites Passion for Mathematics in South Punjab

The Tareen Education Foundation (TEF) took a significant step towards promoting mathematics education in South Punjab by hosting the 3rd Annual South Punjab Mathematics Competition on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023, at the Amina Girls School and College, an institution under the auspices of Tareen Education Foundation. A total of 407 students, representing 54 schools from Lodhran, Bahawalpur, and Chinot, participated in this intellectually stimulating event.

The competition was thoughtfully divided into two segments, catering to distinct educational levels. One section was tailored for students from classes VI to VIII, while the other was designed for students in classes IX and X. Participants were challenged with a conceptual question booklet, filled with thought-provoking mathematical problems, and a rigorous quiz intended to evaluate their mathematical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Mr. Muhammad Yaqoob, Program Manager of Tareen Education Foundation, expressed his pride and admiration for the exceptional talent and unwavering enthusiasm displayed by the young mathematicians who partook in the competition. He emphasized that their dedication serves as a potent source of inspiration and pledged the Foundation’s commitment to nurturing their achievements and securing their futures.

The organization of the Third Annual South Punjab Mathematics Competition underscores Tareen Education Foundation’s unwavering commitment to advancing science and mathematics education within the Lodhran district.

The event was graced by Mr. Naik Muhammad, CEO of Education Lodhran, who attended as the Chief Guest. Mr. Naik Muhammad lauded TEF’s educational initiatives and expressed his desire for Tareen Education Foundation to extend its impact by conducting similar examination competitions and training programs for teachers. This, he believed, would ensure that educators are adequately prepared to meet the modern requirements of the technological age, enabling them to better educate their students.

Distinguished guests present at the event included Mehmoodul Hasan Sheikh (RPM) from Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Education Punjab, Naeem Chaudhry, Principal of Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Education Bahawalpur, Muhammad Amin Sindhu, DEO Elementary from Kasur, Dr. Zohaib Bukhari from the Department of Sociology at Islamia University, Khalid Iqbal from Bahauddin Zakariya University Lodhran Campus, Shafiq Sukhira from Tareen Education Foundation, Muhammad Talib, Principal of Amina Girls School and College, Maimoona Kashif, and 54 teachers from various schools who served as judges and evaluators for the competition.

Participants took the opportunity to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Tareen Education Foundation and its founder, Mr. Jahangir Khan Tareen, for organizing a unique competition of this caliber in South Punjab. They underscored the invaluable impact of such initiatives on students and commended the Foundation’s unrelenting efforts toward knowledge and societal development.
