Tax notice issued to (late) ‘Shaukat Khanum’

Shaukat Khanum passed away around 38 years ago in 1985 due to cancer

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has received a notification from the Excise and Taxation Department over the luxury house tax, which has been issued to his mother (late) Shaukat Khanum’s name.

The notice has been served in the name of Imran Khan’s late mother Mst. Shaukat Khanum for Zaman Park residence.

It is important to mention that late Shaukat Khanum passed away around 38 years ago in 1985.

Khan’s mother, Shaukat Khanum, was a housewife. She was born in Jalandhar, before the partition of India. Imran Khan credits his mother as having played a deep influential role in his upbringing. In 1985, she died due to cancer.

To deliver the notice to Imran Khan, a two-person excise and taxes department team travelled to Zaman Park.

The PTI chairman owes Rs3.6 million in taxes, according to the notification, and a letter will be sent to the Election Commission if it is not enforced within seven days.
