The Weeknd pledges $2 Million to Gaza for humanitarian aid

Abel Tesfaye, known as The Weeknd, has once again demonstrated his philanthropic spirit by pledging $2 million from his XO Humanitarian Fund to aid the Gaza Strip.

This donation, in collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), aims to provide 18 million loaves of bread to families affected by the ongoing conflict.

Last December, The Weeknd also donated $2.5 million to help alleviate food shortages in Gaza, urging his fans to contribute as well.

These efforts come at a crucial time, as over 1 million Palestinians in Gaza are facing severe hunger.

Corinne Fleischer, WFP Director for the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe Region, expressed gratitude for The Weeknd’s consistent support, highlighting his compassion and advocacy for humanitarian causes.

This is just one of many charitable actions by The Weeknd, who has previously supported organizations like School on Wheels in Los Angeles and contributed to WFP’s global hunger relief mission.

As a UN Goodwill Ambassador, The Weeknd continues to make a difference through his personal donations and fundraising efforts, having raised a total of $6.5 million to date.
