Top US General Indicates Israel’s Requests Still Pending

The top general of the United States revealed on Thursday that Israel has not received all the weapons it has requested due to capacity limitations and concerns about impacting US military readiness. Despite providing $3.8 billion in annual military assistance to Israel, General Charles Q. Brown stated that some requests could not be fulfilled.

Brown clarified that the decision to withhold certain weapons is part of a standard practice to assess the impact on US stockpiles and readiness before providing aid to allies.

A spokesperson repeated that there has been no change in US policy and that security assistance to Israel continues.

The comments come amid criticism from some Democrats and Arab American groups over US support for Israel following the recent conflict in the Gaza Strip. More than 32,000 Palestinians were killed in the offensive, reminding calls for a reevaluation of US aid to Israel.

Despite opposition within the Democratic Party, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin recently met with Israel’s Defense Minister to discuss security assistance. General Brown stated that the dialogue between the two countries is ongoing
