Tottenham soars upwards with 2-0 victory over Fulham

Tottenham moved to the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 win against Fulham, thanks to goals from Son Heung-min and James Maddison.

Tottenham has remained undefeated in their first nine league matches under Ange Postecoglou’s guidance, with Son’s first goal and Maddison’s first goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – after his move from Leicester – bolstering their excellent run. Tottenham now leads Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool by two points as a result of this victory.

Earlier in the season, Fulham defeated Tottenham in a penalty shootout in the League Cup. Tottenham’s recent league victory, however, is their third in a row, highlighting their championship ambitions.

Tottenham’s excellent start to the season under Postecoglou has reignited expectations of the club winning the Premier League for the first time since 1961. Tottenham’s current success is remarkable given the previous season’s problems, particularly the loss of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

His outstanding start with the club saw him shatter the record for the most points scored by a new manager in their first nine Premier League games. The squad is now preparing for their next game against Crystal Palace on Friday.

Tottenham’s match against Fulham proved difficult despite their strong run. Son’s first goal was the product of a defensive slip, while Maddison’s second-half goal was also facilitated by Fulham’s defensive mistakes. Son and Maddison have replaced Kane’s hole well, showcasing their on-field camaraderie and efficacy.
