UN reports Gaza received only 906 aid truckloads since start of Israel’s Rafah operation

Aid access to the Gaza Strip is severely restricted, with less than 1,000 truckloads of humanitarian assistance entering for 2.3 million people since May 7 due to Israel’s military operation.

Palestinians continue to face famine amid the genocide.

The United Nations reported that only 906 truckloads entered the enclave, mainly comprising food supplies.

The crossings controlled by Israel and Egypt have limited the flow of aid, leading to concerns of a looming famine.

“Additionally, just over 1 million litres of fuel have entered the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the military operation in Rafah,” OCHA posted online.

“This represents an average of 29% of fuel allocations that would have been received under arrangements in place prior to 6 May, further affecting the functioning of bakeries, hospitals, water wells, and other critical infrastructure,” it said.

Efforts to reopen crossings and increase aid have been made, but challenges persist, impacting critical infrastructure like hospitals and bakeries.
