Islamabad: Hackers have begun using 12 new chat applications for information theft.
According to sources, the Cabinet Division has sent a notification to all federal ministries and divisions informing them that hackers are attempting to access crucial information through a total of 132 chat applications.
Sources state that hackers have also started using 12 new chat applications for information theft through which they are attempting to gain access to important data.
In this regard, sources revealed that attempts are being made to access vital information by tricking individuals into installing chat applications. Officers were advised in the notification to disconnect from the internet after installing chat applications.
Additionally, the Cabinet’s notification recommended installing reputable antivirus software and scanning mobile phones. It also advised against installing applications from untrustworthy sources and using unknown Wi-Fi networks.
