Wasim Akram to train Sri Lankan bowlers for T20 World Cup

Wasim Akram, the former cricketing legend from Pakistan, has embarked on a two-day training program aimed at national players, SLC High Performance Coaches, and coaches from major clubs in Sri Lanka.

Upon his arrival in Sri Lanka this morning, Akram will conduct a total of five sessions, encompassing training for the SLC pace academy, High Performance Center (HPC), and coaches from prominent clubs.

During his visit, Akram will also oversee the preparations of Sri Lanka’s national players for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

This program reflects Sri Lanka Cricket’s commitment to enhancing coaching capabilities within the SLC High Performance Center and the broader Major Club system across the country.

The decision to invite Akram was made by the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket, under the leadership of Mr. Shammi Silva, the President of Sri Lanka Cricket. The training sessions are scheduled to commence on May 2, 2024.
