Zaka Ashraf future in doubt as Chairman PCB ‘musical chair’ continues

Pakistan Cricket Board faces uncertainty over Chairman role once again as the Inter-Provincial Coordination Ministry has asked the prime minister’s advice over the future of its current chairmam Zaka Ashraf.

According to the ministry Zaka Ashraf falls under a political appointment.

The IPC’s step came after the Election Commission of Pakistan had advised the caretaker governments to cancel the services of all heads of institutions appointed on a political grounds.

In the letter to the principal secretary to the PM, IPC Secretary Hanif Orakzai has asked for orders on two individuals, including PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf.

“The cases pertaining to the ministry of IPC are submitted for consideration and appropriate order please,” the letter says mentioning Zaka Ashraf and Peer Syed Ahmed Nawaz Shah, Chairman of the Federal Land Commission.

The IPC letter has also mentioned that Zaka Ashraf is politically linked with the Pakistan Peoples Party.

Zaka was named head of the PCB management committee last month.
