Zendaya reveals Serena Williams’ reaction to Challengers

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Zendaya recently shared tennis icon Serena Williams’ reaction to her performance in the film Challengers.

In an interview, Zendaya recounted her conversation with Williams, who acknowledged that the tennis scenes likely didn’t involve real balls but praised Zendaya’s portrayal nonetheless, recognizing her talent despite her lack of prior tennis experience.

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, Challengers features Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a confident former tennis champion turned coach, navigating complicated relationships from her past.

Zendaya admitted feeling nervous about Williams witnessing her tennis skills and even preemptively apologized to both Williams sisters, Serena and Venus.

Scheduled for release on April 26, Challengers promises a compelling narrative about love, rivalry, and redemption on and off the tennis court.

Meanwhile, Zendaya’s other recent project, ‘Dune: Part Two’, earned acclaim for its engaging plot, breathtaking visuals, and stellar performances from its ensemble cast, including Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, and Austin Butler.

The sequel, following the success of ‘Dune: Part One’, premiered on March 1, 2024, boasting a runtime of 2 hours and 46 minutes. Director Denis Villeneuve admitted to making difficult editing decisions to bring Frank Herbert’s novel to life on the big screen.

‘Dune 2’ continues the saga of Paul Atreides as he fulfills his destiny as the savior of a desert world brimming with political intrigue and mystical forces.
