£190 Million corruption case hearing adjourned by court until April 29th

The latest developments in the ongoing legal proceedings regarding a £190 million corruption scandal have seen significant activity. The legal team representing the applicant has concluded the cross-examination of two witnesses, marking a pivotal phase in the case. Moreover, an additional six witnesses have provided their statements, which have been meticulously recorded as part of the proceedings.

This high-profile case, centered around allegations of corruption amounting to £190 million, is being heard in Adiala Jail. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has been actively presenting evidence and witness testimonies to substantiate their case.

Notably, a total of 21 witnesses have now had their statements recorded, underscoring the extensive nature of the legal process. During a recent court session held at Adiala Jail, prominent figures such as Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and his spouse Bushra Bibi were present in the courtroom, adding to the significance of the proceedings.

Representing the applicant, lawyers Zaheer Abbas Chaudhry, Usman Gil, and Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry were in attendance, demonstrating a robust legal defense. On the opposing side, the NAB’s legal team, led by Deputy Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi and prosecutor Amjad Pervaiz, presented their arguments with diligence and professionalism.

Following the day’s proceedings, the court decided to adjourn the hearing until April 29, allowing both parties to prepare further evidence and arguments for the next phase of the trial.
