Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday rejected a claim by Prime Minister Imran Khan of receiving threats and said that the letter shown by Khan during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rally on Sunday was “fake”.
Addressing a rally in Islamabad, Maulana called the prime minister the West’s “agent”, alleging that he had been imposed on Pakistan to fulfill their agenda.
The JUI-F said that it was possible for the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) to hold a march towards D-Chowk in front of the Parliament House. However, he added that they would not do so in respect of the Supreme Court’s orders.
Speaking about the prime minister’s claim that he was receiving threats, the PDM chief said that the premier “waved a fake letter that he was receiving threats”.
“You are making a fool out of people writing false chits but no letter can save you,” he said.
Rehman went on to say that it was PM Khan who was seeking a National Reconciliation Ordinance and not the opposition.
“We will not give you an NRO. Now you are under our control. We can drag you at any square,” he added, referencing the NRO that was issued by former president General Pervez Musharraf in 2007 to provide relief to politicians facing corruption charges.
