Sanaullah worried about KP law & order deteriorating situation

If KP police could not avert terrorist attacks what protection would people have? Interior Minister asks

Minister of Interior Rana Sanaullah has stated on Saturday that the federal government was extremely worried about the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The minister criticized the KP government on Twitter for failing to draw any conclusions from the terrorist attack on the Counter Terrorism Department Center (CTD) in Bannu last month where law enforcement officers were taken hostage by terrorists.

Chief Minister KP Mahmood Khan was slammed by him for being more intent on dissolving the legislature.

The minister questioned, “If KP police could not avert terrorist attacks what protection would the people have?” He honoured the sacrifices made by the police officers who were killed and saluted them.

Sardar Hussain, a deputy superintendent of police, and his two police guards perished in a gunfight with militants in the Budh Bir region.

The terrorists utilized a variety of weaponry, according to the authorities. They used automatic weapons, hand grenades and sniper fire.

Senior police and military officials attended the burial of the murdered police officers on Saturday in Peshawar.

According to the Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS) annual report, “Pakistan Security Report 2022,” there were 262 terrorist acts in Pakistan in 2022 including 14 suicide bombs which resulted in 419 fatalities and 734 injuries.
