Soldiers martyred in South Waziristan laid to rest, ISPR

Forces, intelligence agencies stand resolute and determined to uproot menace of terrorism, military’s media wing

The soldiers of Pak Army, who had embraced martyrdom yesterday during an encounter with terrorists at South Waziristan, have been laid to eternal rest. Serving and retired officers participated in the funeral in large numbers, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has stated in a press release.

Havildar Azhar Iqbal, Naik Mohammad Asad and Sepoy Essa of Pakistan Army who embraced shahadat during an operation in Saggu, Dera Ismail Khan were laid to rest with full military honours in Lodhran, Mian Channu and Bobar Ziarat, South Waziristan respectively.

The funeral & burial were attended by serving and retired military personnel, families & relatives of Shaheeds and a large number of people from various segments of the society.

The military’s media wing has said that the Armed Forces of Pakistan and intelligence agencies stand resolute and determined to uproot the menace of terrorism at all costs.

These sacrifices reaffirm our resolve and strengthen our faith in fight against terrorism to provide a peaceful Pakistan to our coming generations, it added.
