Court extends Qureshi’s interim bail till April 13

A Lahore sessions court on Saturday extended the interim bail of PTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi till April 13 in a case involving agitating the public and obstructing a road.

The judge questioned Qureshi’s attorney about why the vice chairman of the PTI was not participating in the probe during the sessions.

The PTI leader’s attorney replied that Qureshi was ready to join the investigation but he did not have any idea about the investigation officer in the case.

The bail application for Shibli Faraz and Fawad Chaudhry was held up by the court. Cases against the PTI leaders were filed at the Racecourse police station.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shehbaz Gill could not be indicted again in the sedition case against institutions as the court adjourned the hearing of the case till May 6.

Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sapra heard the case against Shahbaz Gill in the District and Sessions Court Islamabad.

At the last hearing, Shahbaz Gill could not appear in court due to the submission of nomination papers for the elections in Faisalabad, so he could not be indicted in his absence. Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas directed the accused to ensure attendance today.
