A large part of industry ‘does not accept me’, says actor Aagha Ali

During a recent interview on a YouTube podcast, Pakistani actor Aagha Ali voiced his frustration regarding what he perceives as a lack of acceptance from a significant portion of the media industry.

He claimed that despite his record-breaking dramas, he often goes unrecognized and unacknowledged, even failing to receive nominations for prestigious awards.

Ali expressed disappointment over attending award shows solely to applaud others, highlighting his desire for acceptance within the industry despite feeling overlooked.

Despite starring in approximately 100 dramas throughout his nearly two-decade-long career, Ali revealed that he has only received one award, emphasizing that he is not affiliated with any influential groups but has garnered recognition from the public.

Reflecting on past conflicts within the media industry, particularly in 2014, Ali recounted instances where he confronted individuals who displayed a sense of superiority.

He criticized the elitist mindset prevalent in certain circles, where individuals believe themselves to be untouchable.

Shifting focus to the Pakistani film industry, Ali lamented the failure of many movies due to the casting of individuals lacking essential skills such as dancing or acting.

He criticized the trend of selecting heroes based on factors other than their acting abilities, suggesting it has contributed to the industry’s shortcomings.
