Actress Sharmin Segal recalls declining Salman Khan’s marriage proposal

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan reportedly proposed to actress Sharmin Segal for marriage, but she declined.

Despite being in his 50s, Salman Khan remains one of the most eligible bachelors in the country.

Sharmin Segal, who is director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s niece, revealed in a recent interview that she first met Salman Khan when she was just 2 or 3 years old on the sets of “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.”

She fondly recalled how Salman jokingly asked her to marry him, to which she responded with a laugh.

Sharmin admitted to still being a fan of Salman Khan, particularly enjoying his song “O O Jane Jana” from “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.”

She explained that at that age, she didn’t understand the concept of marriage and would say no to everything.

Speaking about her work with her uncle Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sharmin shared that she only realized he was her uncle when she was 18 years old, while watching “Devdas.”

She praised Bhansali as a tireless worker and mentor, revealing that she assisted him on the sets of “Bajirao Mastani.” Sharmin Segal made her debut with “Malaal” opposite Meezaan Jafri, earning a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
