Test cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has leveled serious allegations against wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris, accusing him of orchestrating a campaign to secure his place in the national side.
In an interview with a private news channel, Ahmed Shehzad claimed that Mohammad Haris employed a PR team to advocate for his inclusion in the national team via social media.
Shehzad criticized Haris’s performance in domestic cricket, noting his lackluster record and minimal contributions in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine, where he managed just one fifty.
Questioning Haris’s selection despite his alleged poor performance, Shehzad also criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for overlooking deserving players who have consistently excelled in domestic cricket over the past decade.
He highlighted the plight of players without the financial means to run such campaigns, questioning the fairness of the selection process.
It’s worth noting that Mohammad Haris was not named in the squad for the upcoming series against Ireland and England.
