Ahsan Iqbal and Iranian ambassador discuss bilateral trade

On Wednesday, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam held discussions regarding bilateral trade.

Moghaddam met with Iqbal in Islamabad, where both officials deliberated on the historical relations between their respective countries.

During the meeting, Iqbal emphasized the importance of the 900-kilometer-long border in fostering bilateral trade and enhancing mutual relations.

The federal minister highlighted the potential for significantly increasing the trade volume between Pakistan and Iran.

In a separate statement earlier today, Iqbal addressed the severe economic challenges facing the country.

He expressed concern, stating, “The government’s operations are heavily reliant on loans, which is a cause for alarm.”

Iqbal stressed the urgent need to boost production capacity, revenue, and exports to revitalize the country’s economy.

He underscored, “Economic progress of up to nine percent is the only viable option for the country.”
