Pakistani-American singer Arooj Aftab has been nominated in two categories at this year’s Grammy Awards, as revealed in Friday night’s announcement of the nominees.
Arooj Aftab is recognized in the ‘Best Alternative Jazz Album’ category for her work on the album ‘Love In Exile’ and is also nominated in the ‘Best Collaborative Music Performance’ category for her single ‘Shadow Forces’.
Arooj celebrated the news by sharing a screenshot of the nominations on her Instagram stories and posted a photo with singers Vijay Iyer and Shahzad Ismaily, expressing her congratulations on the Grammy nomination.
Arooj made history in 2022 as the first Pakistani to win a Grammy award in the ‘Best Global Performance’ category.
