UN Women reports that nearly one-third of the casualties in the Gaza conflict, totaling at least 10,000 individuals, have been women. Among these victims, 6,000 were mothers, resulting in 19,000 orphaned children, as stated by UN Women.
The agency highlights that women who have survived Israeli attacks and ground operations are experiencing displacement, widowhood, and food insecurity. This profound gender-specific impact underscores that the conflict in Gaza is not only a war in general terms but also specifically impacts women, according to the UN agency.
