Since October 7, Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip has resulted in the deaths of at least 34,097 Palestinians, with 76,980 others wounded, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
In the past 24 hours alone, 48 Palestinians were killed, and 79 others were injured, as reported by the ministry.
The actual death toll is likely much higher, as many bodies are believed to be buried under debris from buildings destroyed in Israeli airstrikes.
A statement from the ministry highlighted that the Israeli forces carried out five massacres targeting families in Gaza, resulting in 48 deaths and 79 injuries within the past day. The ongoing challenges include many people trapped under rubble, and rescue efforts are hindered due to the difficulty of accessing certain areas.
