ATC extends Imran Khan’s interim bail in two cases till May 4

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has extended the interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, former prime minister appeared before the court through video link.

Lahore ATC on Monday granted interim bail to Imran Khan in two cases. After further hearing, the court extended the bail and prevented Imran Khan from being arrested till May 4.

The court also extended the interim bail of PTI leaders Farrukh Habib, Fawad Chaudhry, Hammad Azhar, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rashid and Ejaz Chaudhry.

Earlier, Justice Ejaz Ahmed Buttar started hearing on the interim bail, in which Imran Khan’s lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar argued. He said that Imran Khan is a former prime minister of Pakistan, his attendance should be made through video link.

The lawyer said that they were giving an undertaking that Imran Khan will also surrender and join the investigation.

The judge remarked that what special thing he has done that he has received security threats. Nawaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and other former prime ministers were also walking. On which the lawyer said that if the court gives an order, then they will present Imran Khan.

The lawyers presented a copy of the threat in the court and said that Imran Khan was not leaving the country and he will face the cases as he has been doing.

Later, the court allowed Imran Khan’s request to appear through video link for a day and extended his interim bail.
