Babar Azam Nears T20I Milestone, Eyes Surpassing Kohli and Sharma

Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, is on the cusp of reaching another milestone in T20I cricket, poised to surpass India’s Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Currently, Babar boasts 3,823 runs in T20I cricket, ranking third in the list of most runs in this format. Pakistan is scheduled to play seven T20Is against Ireland and England this month, presenting a prime opportunity for Babar to overtake the Indian duo.

He needs just 151 runs to match Sharma’s tally and 215 runs to surpass Kohli.

The Pakistan team departed for Dublin, Ireland, from Lahore via Dubai earlier today.

They are set to play three T20Is in Ireland and four in England before heading to the United States for the T20 World Cup.

The 18-player squad named for the Ireland and England T20Is will be trimmed to 15 players for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after the first T20I against England on May 22.

Pakistan’s upcoming matches include a tour of Ireland with matches on May 10, 12, and 14, followed by a tour of England with matches on May 22, 25, 28, and 30.

Their T20 World Cup schedule includes matches against USA, India, Canada, and Ireland on June 6, 9, 11, and 16 respectively.
