Bahrain’s Crown Prince discusses with US Secretary of State on Gaza developments

Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken engaged in discussions on Monday regarding the ongoing developments in Gaza, as well as other regional and global matters of mutual interest.

In a telephone conversation, the Prince stated robust Bahrain-US partnership, acknowledging the significance of enhancing collaborative efforts to achieve shared objectives and interests, as reported by the Bahrain News Agency.

In addressing the Middle East’s current landscape and specifically the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza, the Prince reaffirmed Bahrain’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and its unwavering commitment to facilitating a peaceful, durable, and equitable resolution in backing Palestinians’ legitimate aspirations for an independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Additionally, he stressed the vital necessity of safeguarding civilians and de-escalating the violence in Gaza, which poses threats to regional security and stability.

The US State Department noted that both officials reaffirmed their joint dedication to preventing the extension of regional conflicts, with Blinken expressing gratitude to Bahrain for its contributions to maritime security.

Furthermore, the discussions highlighted the continuous enhancement of strategic partnership through cooperation under the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement, strengthening the bond between their respective nations, as shared by spokesperson Matthew Miller.
