Baloch Student Council expresses concern over ‘abduction of student’

The Baloch Student Council in Lahore issued a statement on Wednesday, after a student was ‘picked up’ from Punjab University’s hostel in the early morning, expressing concerns over the security of students.

According to the statement, Bebagr Imdad, a student of English Literature at NUML Islamabad, came to spend the Eid holidays with his cousin studying at Punjab University Lahore. He was ‘taken away’ by people in plain clothes and no FIR or warrant was shown at the time of his arrest.

In the statement, the student body has requested all the activists to stand with Baloch students and has asked authorities to not harass other Baloch students as it would create a greater sense of hatred.
