BDS report unveils further details of Karachi attack perpetrators

The recent suicide bombing in Karachi’s Landhi area has deeply impacted the city, yet amidst the sorrow, stories of bravery and resilience have surfaced.

As per the bomb disposal squad’s findings, one of the attackers was carrying a minimum of 10 explosives, but swift actions by individuals and security measures prevented greater devastation.

A crucial element in thwarting the attack was a bread delivery van, which positioned itself between the attackers and targeted vehicles, absorbing much of the blast’s impact and reducing casualties. Security guard Noor Muhammad’s courageous intervention, confronting the terrorist, was pivotal in averting a more severe outcome.

Regrettably, Muhammad sacrificed his life in the line of duty, but his bravery undoubtedly saved numerous others. Moreover, his prompt response led to the injury of the second terrorist before police intervention, ultimately neutralizing the threat.

Investigations into the incident have uncovered concerning details about the explosives employed by the attackers.

The bomb disposal squad recovered 10 grenades and a grenade launcher at the scene, while the suicide bomber’s vest weighed between four and five kilograms, containing 3 kilograms of explosives, including gunpowder, ball bearings, and nails.

Additionally, investigative sources have uncovered additional weaponry, comprising three rifle grenades and two machine guns.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has collaborated with the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) to identify the suicide bomber, with DNA samples collected for further analysis.
