Biden urges Israel to provide immediate aid to Palestinians

During President Joe Biden’s announcement on Wednesday, he insisted on the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip while Israel continues to battle Hamas, a group recognized as a terrorist organization by the United States.

“We are committed to swiftly ensuring that aid reaches those in need, including food, medical supplies, and clean water,” Biden stated following the approval of a significant military aid package for Israel and Ukraine, which also allocated $1 billion in humanitarian aid for Gaza.

Biden stressed the importance of Israel facilitating the distribution of aid to the Palestinians in Gaza without any delays.

Tensions between the US and Israel have escalated due to Israel’s military actions in Gaza and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plans to send troops into the southern Gazan city of Rafah, where a large population of 1.5 million people is seeking refuge, many of them living in makeshift shelters.

“This legislation greatly increases the humanitarian support we are providing to the innocent civilians in Gaza who are enduring immense hardship,” Biden stated.

He pointed out that the people of Gaza are suffering the consequences of the conflict initiated by Hamas, and the U.S. administration has been diligently working for months to ensure the delivery of aid to alleviate the suffering in Gaza.
