New Delhi: While you may have seen rice prepared in various shades of yellow or multicoloured styles, a viral post on social media has stirred up a new debate with blue-coloured rice cooked in ghee.
According to Indian media reports, food blogger Pratima Pradhan shared a video on the photo and video sharing platform Instagram demonstrating the preparation of rice cooked in blue ghee.

The video shows Pratima Pradhan first washing the leaves of the butterfly pea plant then soaking a cup of rice in boiling water and adding butterfly pea leaves to it.
She then heats ghee in another pot and adds spices, cinnamon, cashews, raisins, chopped onions and chopped green chilies to it and after a few seconds, she adds the boiled blue rice to it.
Finally, the dish is ready which consists of rice prepared in ghee and spices giving it a blue colour.
It is evident that after the video of the rice went viral, users on social media are expressing mixed reactions, some considering it a unique recipe while others see it as a means of gaining cheap popularity.
