Bobby Deol to play villain opposite Alia Bhatt in YRF spy thriller movie

Following his recent success as the antagonist alongside Ranbir Kapoor in the Bollywood hit “Animal,” Indian actor Bobby Deol is set to play a villain once again. This time, he will be facing off against Alia Bhatt, Kapoor’s wife, in an upcoming spy thriller produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF), as reported by Indian media sources.

A source close to the project disclosed that Deol’s role in the film is custom-tailored for him and is described as being full of charisma. The film, which is yet to be titled, is said to feature an all-female lead cast, a rarity in the typically male-dominated spy genre.

Deol’s character is described as a menacing antagonist who will challenge Bhatt and another actress, Sharvari Wagh, in the movie. Production is set to commence in the latter half of 2024, and Deol is reportedly eager to begin filming.

The YRF Spy Universe, overseen by Aditya Chopra, includes several successful films such as “Ek Tha Tiger,” “Tiger Zinda Hai,” “War,” “Pathaan,” “Tiger 3,” and “War 2.” Deol, who began his career as a romantic hero in 1995, has transitioned into playing villainous roles in recent years, with notable performances in films like “Badal,” “Bichhoo,” “Shakalaka Boom Boom,” and “Love Hostel.”

To prepare for his latest role, which is said to be his most morally ambiguous yet, Deol is reportedly undergoing physical transformations and experimenting with new looks.
